Jamie & Grant

Thursday, March 24th, 2011

A destination wedding that includes mountains, cabin, vows, and ribs with your family followed by more destination fun on a wedding cruise to celebrate is an amazing wedding if I do say so myself!

Mix that with the awesome that is Jamie and Grant and you have yourself a day! I was SO honored to be part of their intimate destination wedding and absolutely loved every bit of getting to capture it. From the amazing peacock details, great weather, beautiful cake, perfect dress, and Grant’s dad marrying them, it all made such a perfect day.

Congrats to Jamie and Grant!

alison and taylor get married:)

Saturday, October 23rd, 2010

Alison and Taylor got married at Butterfly Gap just outside of the Smoky Mountains on a absolutely beautiful day! Seriously, fall time around here is amazing! Alison and Taylor are both from out of town and have spent time at Butterfly Gap, so it was a special place as they said their wedding vows. Alison planned this wedding with the guests in mind, her one concern was that everyone enjoy themselves…and I think she got her wish:) And the sun, oh, the amazing light for their wedding photos.

a wedding in the mountains

Wednesday, September 29th, 2010

John and Bekah got married on the anniversary of the day they met. In a wedding that was nestled in the Smoky Mountains on a perfect fall day. It was a perfect day, truly perfect. Not too hot, laid back, with tons of friends and family there enjoying the day for what it was. Then of course there are the Tom shoes and smores…I mean, really, that just was the icing on the cake:)

It was misting rain as I pulled up and for some reason I was completely ok with it. The light in the barn was perfect and the church was beautiful so, rain away, we got some amazing pictures and the rain actually made the photography better actually (see the picture with the mountains and you’ll so get it!)

Thank you John and Bekah for being you…you are a beautiful couple and I’m honored to have captured your day for you!

and then Bekah told me there was a covered bridge down the road and I fell in love even more! What!? I could shoot here everyday, all day, and twice on Sundays. Love!

so…this little gem of a picture was shot while we were walking, I’m pretty sure I wasn’t even looking through the view finder, had it wide open, and boom shaka…my favorite picture! Love this! This is straight out of the camera people too!

Bekah made the cake topper that matched with their invitations!

So the night was capped off with a bonfire and smores..because any wedding in the Smoky Mountain is made infinitely more amazing with smores, don’t you think!

a smoky mountain wedding

Monday, February 22nd, 2010

I love a good ol’ smoky mountain wedding. I love the cabins, the intimacy that a smaller wedding gives, they backdrop of the beautiful mountains. just love. photographing these weddings are such fun too!

Megan and Blake were married in a cabin. At the cabins that Megan grew up coming to when their family traveled every year to Tennessee to visit the Smoky Mountains for their family vacation. Love that. What a special place and such memories in the cabins they said their vows in!

Plus, the cabins are my new favorite. Great location and great views!

Oak Haven Resort

Sevierville, TN 37876

Here are a couple pictures to give you a little taste of their wedding.

this hankie is around 90 years old and carried by the bride on her bouquet. Love sentimental things like this!

More sentiment! Love this shot! It just speaks to me for some reason. Megan’s daddy married her and is getting ready to pray over their marriage. Being a preachers kid myself I love when dad’s marry their daughters. What a special moment huh!?
