turning 3 and a roadtrip

Monday, September 6th, 2010

A few weeks ago my baby turned 3. How did that happen?

We celebrated several times,

because really,

according to Pops, birthdays are seasons, not days.

First up on the eve of her real birthday, we had dinner with nana and pops
and Scooby:)

this is how Lena felt about it:)

then on her birthday, we packed up and headed out for some much needed family fun

thank God for Scooby and a travel DVD player.  And nana who thought to get her all of that!

She wore a Scooby birthday ribbon all day…that girl loves her some Scooby:)

and this is how we ended the day,

right after we went to the beach, had birthday ice cream, and hit the pool,

naturally.

Where do I start with this wedding. I seriously don’t even know. I could tell you it was a fun outdoor wedding near Townsend. That the photography was awesome and the details were ah-mazing! I could tell you that it thundered during the vows, as if Lauren’s dad was cheering her on. I could tell you there were 26 people in the bridal party and the girls went barefoot. I could tell you that the bride’s mom made her and all the bridal party dresses. But all of that just wouldn’t grasp the fullness of the day. To say it was awesome is an understatement.

So we’ll start with this. Lauren and Joshua made this day. It was a true reflection of them and their love for one another and the love they have surrounding them. That is what made this wedding, outside of Townsend, in the mountains, one to put in the books.

I was honored to photograph this wedding and am honored to now call Lauren and Joshua friends. We have big plans to hook up for a puppy/kid play date:)

ps…the title has a whole other story for you and is dedicated to the bridal party:)

pps…lots of pictures ahead but I promise you want to look at them all because there’s a little surprise at the end that makes it all worth it:)
You may remember Lauren and Joshua from here and here:)

LOVE LOVE LOVE! A story about the signs that I’ll share in a later post:)

so this is my favorite signing thing for weddings. ever. It was a canvas where guests put their thumbprint and name on the tree! Then the signage beside it said “Leaf a print for the bride and groom”. I am so doing this if we ever renew vows…how fun is it!

nothing like a jeep all nice and toilet papered:)

ok…so this photo was Lauren’s idea and the bridal party rocked it. So I fancied up the pictures and put them together because I think it makes it even more awesome:) LOVE this!

anniversaries and grapes

Wednesday, September 1st, 2010

Amy and Mason were married last year at Johnson Bible College in Knoxville, TN and their wedding was nothing short of fabulous! So much so that I blogged about it twice:) Here and Here are their two wedding photography posts. And then don’t forget their engagement photography post too:)

So its only fitting with all that fun history that we are here today doing a post on their 1 year anniversary!

We decided to do our session at a pick your own berry and fruit farm out near Powell, TN and had a blast! It was a perfect Tennessee evening with great light and even better, Mason found the most amazing grapes on this earth (his words:) ). We left with lots of grapes and some amazing pictures…enjoy:)
