Kristen and Blake were married in Loudon, TN on the hottest day of the year yet this year. Luckily they had a beautiful inside wedding and reception that had some nice air conditioning. But the summer heat didn’t keep us from taking advantage of the beautiful Loudon area, complete with barn and stables that the bride’s family built. Love fun places to photograph the wedding party and bride and groom!
So this post is heavy on pictures of just that, the photography we took at the barn because the light was so much fun to play with that day and they were rocking it. Love them!
Kristen and Blake (and the wedding party!), thanks for bearing the heat and a big huge congrats!
we had a golf cart to ride from the church to the barn…it was fun!
this one is for Chad…I promised him a blog shout out:)
yes, finally, a personal post. I’m trying to catch up with these:) A few weeks ago we went out to the ballgame with the nana and pops. Nana taught Lena the baseball song which resulted in Lena screaming out randomly for weeks “1,2,3 strikes youre oooooooouuuuttt”. Hilarious!
Here are my perfectly imperfect snapshots of the night. to remember the moments:)
her first ring pop…note the tongue:)
the balloon guy made her a turtle bracelet…cutest thing ever. This is her expression when she was wrestling around with Brad and it popped…cutest face ever:)
this is her expression watching fireworks for the first time. shot at really high iso…think 6400, only light is off of distant fireworks, no tripod….its perfectly imperfect:) We photographers have to remember to love the perfectly imperfect photos that will later on make us smile remembering the moment.
Jenna made sure her wedding in Middlesboro, KY was full of romance. From the most amazing flowers I have ever seen, amazing pink details to photograph, and a stunning wedding dress! Jay on the other hand brought a little something different to the wedding:)
golf and honeydo’s. These were the answers from Jenna and Jay at a question that was on what they didn’t want to do on the honeymoon:) We had the golf tee’s so Jenna had the awesome idea of honeydew and I love it!
I’m sitting in my hotel room in Kentucky getting ready for a wedding so I thought its a perfect time to blog about Sara and Roy’s beautiful wedding last week in Knoxville.
The weather was perfect for such a perfect day, complete with limo rides, fun dancing, and Sara and Roy, who were their amazing selves and just thoroughly enjoyed the day. Roy said to Sara when he first saw her “that’s my Sara”. Love that!
some getting ready pictures:) Hardly ever put any of these on the blog, not sure why, but was loving these and thought I would share.
love love love these two!
lets just say the groomsmen had a little fun:)
so, had to include these next two. This little boy tore up the dance floor and was the cutest thing ever! Lots of fun dancing that night but he takes the cake:)
I know, I know…I have been a slacker. Five on Fridays bit the dust during May when crazy wedding/traveling happened. But its back today! And I’m committing to it being back but we will be moving it to biweekly…so fun five on fridays every other week! That will give me time to post other sessions and make the fives extra fun for you!
For those that are just stopping by, Five on Fridays are just that, five random things on Fridays. Sometimes with a theme, sometimes just random things going on in the life of me. Just a way to have some fun and share info on the blogosphere:)
1. Along with my slacking on the fives, I have been slacking on the newsletter starting about the same time. I’m putting together my next one with lots of fun info so go sign up if you aren’t on the list already:)
2. So, you know how there are times in your life where you just have this weird need to redecorate, paint, make life pretty? (probably more of a girl thing…) I’m so having that right now (perhaps because of #3). I seriously want to conquer the to do list of house maintenance and redecorating. Problem is that I am so not one of those people that just can throw things together and make it look all pretty and coordinated. So I’m trying my hand at an inspiration board and saving things that I like…in hopes that it will help me when we actually decide to paint. Anyone good at decorating…I could probably use some help:)
3. With all the recent crap going on…busyness, miscarriage, anesthesia and meds for the surgery, general not eating as well as I should have….my body was revolting and I was feeling it. Really tired, non motivated, a mess! So I decided to start taking some vitamins, eat healthy, and do a little detoxing to try to get back to at least normal. And let me tell you its definitely working. Not that I am all honky dory now but I can definitely tell a huge change in just my energy level! So, lesson learned, take your vitamins!
4. So, remember American Idol and the vet that sang his own song, pants on the ground. This is what Lena busted out with the other day (ahemmm..pretty sure dada had something to do with it!) and I got her to agree for me to tape it as long as nana saw it:) she even threw in her signature booty shake.
5. If you are a Knoxville photographer, be sure to go here to join us on facebook and keep up with all the fun things going on. This is such a fun time in Knoxville for photographers and there are so many great things to help grow your business! An AMAZING workshop is coming in November and our monthly SMUG meetings are rocking, with our next one being on 7/29 with the amazing Julie Roberts speaking!
Remember this amazing wedding. Yep, amazing! So I thought I’d share a little slideshow love with you with more of the pictures…plus a little video action that my amazing second shooter, Feuza, caught on the day of the wedding. Enjoy!
Lena has her first song crush. It’s the song by Bob called Airplane. Or as Lena calls it her “wish right now” song. Not sure how it came to be but all the sudden a few days ago she started asking for her wish right now song. At first I had no clue what she was talking about. She must have heard it on the radio and decided she liked it:) So now she asks for it and says “its the best song eber”.
Tonight she was singing it and asked for it. I, once again, tried to explain the concept of radio and how we don’t have it in the house on a cd. Her reply, “don’t worry, I have it in my mouth” and then goes to singing it:)
ps. I am ashamed at how far behind I am in Lena and life posts. seriously, I have decorating eggs for easter in undies for goodness sake! The blog has been jam packed with all things business and I’m feeling like a guilty momma who gives her kids an mostly empty baby book…must start documenting more.
so here is to my wish right now. to remember these crazy days and every fun moment of this thing we call life.
