models, flowers, and lovely light, oh my!

Tuesday, June 29th, 2010

as promised, I’m back to show a few more of the model photography session I did for Salon Resplendent. I’m in love with so many of these pictures from this shoot! The models completely rocked it for the shoot and I was in love with the light we were getting that day!

the photo booth of awesomeness

Monday, June 28th, 2010

I had a couple of amazing photo booths in May that I need to get around to sharing with you. Because they.are.awesome. I love when my bride and grooms add on photo booths! Such a fun way to add to your guests experience at your wedding.

And the fake mustaches never hurt either! They are a great reason to craft or you can go have some fun looking over at Etsy :) oh, and you can check out this little gem of a beard on a stick too while you are at it…don’t say I didn’t warn you that finding props for your photo booth is a little addicting:)

Want a little photo booth action at your next party? Hit me up!

a family fun session

Monday, June 28th, 2010

It’s not often I do family sessions, especially with 19 people, but the Alsobrooks made this family session super fun! We had the session in downtown Knoxville because that is where the work, live, and love! So, a couple sneak peeks for you!

first up a little fun family picture! The whole crew having some fun!

This past Thursday I had the honor of leading up the first of many Knoxville SMUG’s. Julie Poole was our marvelous speaker and spoke on some business do’s and selling. A big thanks to her! And a thanks to all the amazing photographers who came out and had some fun! Loved getting together with you and can’t wait to do it next time!

For another fun perspective and some video, check out Photography Bay!

And to find out more about our next SMUG that was just announced today, head on over here!

salon resplendent

Friday, June 25th, 2010

ok…so I’m in a bit of a conundrum. I took SO many pictures of this commercial model shoot that Sheri with Salon Resplendent and I did and I.want.to.post.them.all. Seriously. The models rocked it amazingly!

You know those shoots that you do and you feel completely inspired, the light is awesome, and your shutter clicking just sounds good. that was this shoot. LOVED it! Sheri did an amazing job getting the models amazing outfits, doing their hair, and even lining up a 1927 Ford Model T. oh be still my heart!

So, in an effort not to drown you with 40+ pictures here on the blog, I decided to split them up and do a couple posts. Here is the first installment and we’ll do more early next week.

Girls, thank you for being amazing! And Sheri, thank you for being you and an amazing person with an amazing heart! Check out her salon here.

kanya + martin: a couples session

Thursday, June 24th, 2010

Kanya and Martin had a photography session with me just because. And I love that! They are married and have a family but wanted to celebrate them. How awesome is that! I’m a big fan of couples getting their pictures done even in family sessions because so often we overlook the romance of it all when kids come in the picture.

So we had a great time in the Old City in Knoxville because Kanya likes cool buildings and alleys just as much as me:) And they rocked it with their couple photos, don’t you think:)

on a side note, yesterday I got the news that I was featured on All the Photographers, a blog that features photographers from around the world. I answered some of their fun questions and then they went through and picked out some of their fave pictures from recent sessions:) A big thanks to Jon at All the Photographers for being awesome!

taking the plunge

Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010

haha…the title belongs to Lauren and her sister’s creative minds:) Hope they don’t mind I borrowed it for the title…I was out of creativity tonight.  So, this is part 2 of Lauren and Joshua’s engagement session. Lauren took a little jump off for a picture that she has wanted for a long time, at a place that is special to her and her dad. Then we went to another special place, the place where her and Joshua met and got engaged. Love fun meaningful places for engagement sessions!
