this year.

*this year I want to run. I want to feel the wind in my hair and the pounding of the pavement in my heart. it’s been a dream and I’m just now to the point that I can have faith in myself to make it a reality.

*this year I want to love. Love more freely, more innocently, more blind. To not see things for what the appear on the outside but as they really are.

*this year I want to write. Not just pen to paper for the sake of writing but to write for a purpose. to tell others stories, not just my own, to look at humanity in a different way, to capture the beauty of this world, to blog about my daily life so years later sitting on a porch with my daughter she can read how our lives were 20 something years ago.

*this year I want to be. to enjoy the moment. to be content in the present yet hopeful for the future. to feel the wind in my hair and the sun on my face.

*this year I want to say goodbye. say goodbye to the old me. the one that cares too much sometimes what other people think. the one that doesn’t take enough “me” time. the one that overplans and stresses out. the one that eats too much chocolate.

*this year I want to be the change. to be the change I wish to see in the world. in some tiny way. to give of myself, my time, my talents, my life. to make a difference.

*this year.

WOW, well this was totally inspirational to me!! Even though I don’t comment enough on your blog, I often read it & look at your photography, and I have seen a ton of growth in you and really love looking at your blog! May 2010 be a fantastic yr for you!

“Seeing things for what they really are.” This is the biggest challenge for human beings…animals do, God does, but we are forever projecting and misunderstanding, so mired in self-stuff are we. Gaining some – any – mastery over this will help in all the other areas. This one has been my own challenge for years now, and it will have to be for my lifetime. If anyone can take on a resolutions list of this depth and whoop its butt, it’s you, Shannon.
