pink pony

Tuesday, December 9th, 2008

feeling a bit under the weather as a family but we’ve all had the stomach bug now so hopefully its all behind us:) Thought I would share this post for later on in life Beans can look back and enjoy! Monday night I was in my phenegrin (how in the world that is spelt I have no idea!), I’ve been throwing up all night state (sorry for TMI!) and awoke to find that Brad had taken the sick wife and still-no-stove-because-the-part-is-backordered route and decided to go and grab McDonalds. Well, he got Beans her first happy meal ever and what was inside???? wait for it…. :) A PINK PONY!!! Now, our family has a long history and love of ponies. Linz and I even had a real one (named buck ‘em silly sally…but I digress!) Beans has some jammies that have pink ponies on them and I always ask her where her pink ponies are and she points to him. So, imagine mommy’s joy with her pink pony. I’m not going to lie…I was a tad more excited that she was. Not by much though:)

Here are some pics…these are grab the photos while the memory presents itself, so pardon the shadows and such:)

5 on Friday!

Friday, December 5th, 2008

well. no cool fun theme today…i think I have writers block. I blame it on my lack of sleep…and sinuses! So, today, we are hitting the random trail again for our 5 on Friday, with a little fun thrown in there along the way:)

1. I am so excited for this month on the blog. It’s the end of the year and time for the annual Top Ten fave pics of the year. This year we are going to do several contests and versions so stay tuned!!!

2. My last wedding and session of the year is tomorrow! The next week or two I’ll be finishing all the orders in time for Christmas and then its on to January when the month of Organization kicks in!!

3. Oh, I think I mentioned this in passing. But, Brad and I won a trip to Vegas!! Its for 4 days, all inclusive. I am super excited! We leave next week after my birthday! It will be my first time to be able to play around with my camera all by myself (well…with Brad but you know what I mean…) and get creative with land/hardscapes. We rented a car for a day to go driving and hiking with a little rock climbing maybe in the works for Brad in the Red Rock Canyon…so I’m excited of the picture possibilities!! I’m bringing my trusty mac to work on orders so hopefully will have wifi and be able to post pics along the way. And yes, it will be Beans’ first time away from the ‘rents, she’s staying with the nana and pops…I’m sure I will have withdrawal!

4. Some recommendations: -go see four christmases (hilarious!), -go take a walk downtown at night to check out the lights (beautiful!), -don’t go to Target with the intent of browsing in the toy area and picking up a few things all while remaining sane(busy!) -put on your hat and gloves before you go outside today! (brrrr!) -give a thank you to your stove today…you don’t realize how much it helps you out on a day to day basis (still without a stove!)

5. and what would be a day without a pic or video? Here is a video on another idea for Advent Conspiracy. A way you can impact the world and give presence in the midst of this holiday season. This company is remarkable and was founded on the idea of giving back. Plus they are super cool…I’m pretty much in love with the tiny Toms and think Beans needs a pair:)

this year: give presence

Thursday, December 4th, 2008

I mentionned this a while back here…this is our second year doing Advent Conspiracy as a family. It’s quite fun and always room to grow, year by year! Check out there website at www.adventconspiracy.com. So, got this below in my email and thought I would share…its a great way to give back this year and share a little of what Christmas is all about…I urge you to copy and paste this below and send it on!!

When doing your Christmas cards this year, take one card and send it to this address. If we pass this on and everyone sends one card, think of how many cards these wonderful special people who have sacrificed so much would get.

This is thru the American Red Cross. They will only accept 50 cards per group. They ask that you do not enclose anything with the card (pictures, gift cards etc.)

Holiday cards should be addressed and sent to:
Holiday Mail For Heroes
P.O. Box 5456
Capitol Heights, MD 20791-5456
Cards must be postmarked by December 10 , 2008. Cards received after this date will be returned to senders. For more information, please visit Redcross.org/holidaymail. You can also leave a message on the Red Cross Service to the Armed Forces Facebook Wall.

sneak peek! (Knoxville family photographer)

Monday, December 1st, 2008

The day after turkey day we made our way downtown for a fun family shoot! These guys were visiting from out of town and sad to say I dragged them through the graffiti alleys of downtown! I did apologize that I was giving them tours of the alleys instead of all the other fun places that K-town has to offer. But it paid off in some fun pics! Enjoy the sneak peek!!
