random musings on a rainy Sunday afternoon…

Sunday, November 30th, 2008

exactly what the title says:) here we go….

-Tomorrow is December 1st…where has time gone! 10 days until my birthday, 11 days until the big trip to Vegas that we won, and 25 days until Christmas!!!! Woot woot!

-Christmas stuff is up for the most part. We have a few strands of lights outside that aren’t cooperating and need to be replaced. Brad is beside himself and will be a mess until they get fixed! Boys and their yards….

-Still no oven or stove. Maytag place, please be open tomorrow and have our part!

-Had a brainstorm in Krogers when debating what to do in case we don’t have a stove for a few more days…..crockpot!!!!

-I am dedicating January to organizing my life! I love January for this reason…its when I sort all the tax stuff and get to file 2008 away. Love it! I’m also going to streamline some of the packaging for the biz to get my desk under control

-Why is my child crying when she knows good and well she is exhausted?!

-ok, have to go….child is still crying:)

Have a great lazy, rainy Sunday!

turkey day and missing beans!

IMG_5378webWe had thanksgiving with the nana and pops with grammy there as well. It was quite fun with lots of football, food, and a little bocce and playing on the swingset! We did miss the Linz though and hopefully next year can be together! Since my oven is on the fritz I brought all the ingrediants up and cooked at mom’s house. I made The Mean Green and it was delish:) I even hand made the crispy breaded onions on the top of it! Here is a pic of the leftovers of it…

After dinner the guys played bocce and us girls hung out and Beans played and played! Here ia a snapshot of her in her car.
IMG_5342webthen we played on the swingset. I love this picture! Regardless of the busy background and the snapshot look of it, it just shows pure job of swinging, dont you think!IMG_5350web

So, lately the blog and my camera have been missing Beans because I have been a little busy with other pictures and getting proofs and orders out. I have been craving me some Beans time with the camera and finally got some today! She is getting so big and such a little personality. I just want to bottle all the little things that make her Beans and keep them always. I am so looking forward to who she will become and her accomplishments but man will I miss these days. She is so caring. She gives kisses and big hugs now. She loves to help out with whatever you are doing, and loves throwing away things in the trash! She just rambles on and on and did a good job trying to imitate her dada with her gobble gobble today. Her grammy gave her this dress and today was the perfect nice day for a dress, bare feet, and pictures. We made our way to Sequoya Hills for an impromptu, short pic session…I have some other good ones but I’ll save them since I have a feeling they may end up on a card or present this Christmas.

-Our oven started sparking on the coils tonight so we made a trip to the nana’s and pop’s to cook our Papa Murphy’s. A fun night all in all..now we just need to get our stove fixed:) Good thing turkey day isn’t at our house!!

-I got lots of huge boxed delivered today with fun Cutie Tootie pics in there for the new store! I’ll post pics of the new store soon!

-Turkey Day tomorrow! I’m in charge of the green beans and I’m doing a recipe by Guy Ferieri (I have no idea how to spell his name, I just tried 5 different ways and just started typing random e’s and i’s…he’s the food network guy…hopefully you know!) called the Mean Green…oh yeah!

week of ta

Tuesday, November 25th, 2008

While we were in Ecuador a few months ago we hung out with Alisha, a hilarious, awesome, Australian. She and Beans were fast friends. So, Alisha let us in on a Australian thing that they do with their kids. When kids are young they use the word “ta” as thank you because its easy for little ones to say and teaches them that they need to respond when someone gives them something, etc. So, we have been using that with Beans since then and sure enough, she loves to say her “ta” and typically knows when its appropriate to use. All week I have been telling her its the week of ta when we give thanks for our blessings:) not sure if she really understands that whole thing, but hey, we’ll go with it:)

Some random things I’m thankful for:

baby kisses and hugs
a house to call home
colorful socks
my love
faith
changing seasons
fluffy pillows
canon
the ability to capture memories
my legacy and my heritage
chocolate
mac
sleep
target
the ability to experience cultures and the world

what are you thankful for? leave a comment with your list…come on, you know you want to!!

do you tweat?

move over facebook! The newest craze is twitter, designed to be more communicative and basically based more on conversation than facebook is. I gave it up and got it:) I added it to the blog on the left<-- Click on the follow me and sign on up...I promise its fun...you can even add stuff via phone:)

Speaking of phones, I am in dire need for a new one. My poor pink razor is on its last toe. It won’t even hold a charge for more than 10 hours now:(

5 on Friday!!

1. Are you experiencing puppy love + a constant fascination to dress your puppy in stylish duds? Then feed your spending habits at www.funnyfur.com

2.CRAVING SOMETHING? Make cake balls! Bake a red velvet cake. Let it cool, crumble it into a bowl. Mix it with a can of cream cheese frosting and roll it into balls. Let them chill for a few hours in the fridge. Then melt some chocolate bark and roll the balls in it and plop each coated one onto wax paper to harden. Yummy!

3. What song is Brad currently addicted to? Get ready to laugh….If I were a boy by Beyonce. Yep:) It is rather addicting, i will agree with that but after a while…whew! Anyways, the album, I am…Sasha Fierce dropped this week and its definitely worth a listen. Check it out here

4. After the holidays I will share some of the cute cards and such that are rolling in for clients. Don’t want to spoil it for anyone that may get them in the mail but I pretty much love them all. I still haven’t done ours though…need to get on that:)

5. Thanksgiving is next week! Can you believe it!? Head on out to downtown Knoxville at 6pm on 11/28 to celebrate Regal’s Celebration of Lights and the opening of the ice skating rink.

sneak peek (Knoxville photographer)

Thursday, November 20th, 2008

The anxiously awaited sneak peek from our session in Knoxville with Brad and Des! These photographs were taken in one of my favorite spots in Knoxville. Love the colors and such! It’s funny how being a photographer changes the way you look at things. Driving down the road you are like, oh, that would be a good place for a session:) Here in Knoxville you definitely have to be on the look out for good new places to have a photography session at.
