pre sneak peek

I had the pleasure of taking some pictures of some beautiful bellydancers in downtown Knoxville. The photography combined with the artistic and beauty of the bellydancers made for some awesome photographs.

Just wanted to get at least one pic up for Rachel and Sonja:) A true sneak peek is coming up in a couple days with several pictures but here is on that I love and thought I would share:) We had costume changes, a little rain, a graveyard in Knoxville, and a fun find of a great building at the end of the session…all of this made for a great time and great photography! Rachel and Sonja were great….definitely knew how to work it and model and at times read my mind about poses:) They both dance downtown at the Mirage so check them out sometime! (fyi, the Mirage is amazing…exceeded my expectations…great food (I’m talking best kabob I have ever had in my life!) and a great welcoming atmosphere (the waitstaff were amazing!) Enjoy the pic…I promise more to come:)

not happenin’

Tuesday, July 15th, 2008

so, over the weekend I was trying to get a picture done for Bean’s birthday invitations. I had the idea to take a picture in this cute birthday hat and Amber had one on hand and let me borrow it..thanks Amber:) well…beans had other ideas. She would not keep that hat on! I finally started holding it on her head and just snapping in hopes of getting a good one…didn’t happen. This is the best I got…you can she her little arms going for the had in the picture. So, we opted for a different pic on the invitation:)

In other news, the bath reno 2008 is under way…we now have a new floor:) While walking out to the portajon yesterday morning, I was like “oh fun…it’s kinda like camping!”. Then, I get a call from Brad in the afternoon saying that the sink is backed up and he can’t fix it. So now, we have no sinks in the house at all and no bathroom….now we’re really camping! The plumber is coming tomorrow so maybe that will help:)

my name is beans and at 11 months I….

-have 6 teeth with two more coming in
-have mastered climbing down stairs
-love to eat bites of big people food and think baby food after a few bites is ick…would rather be trying to pick up bits of slippery goodness
-love the weekends when I wake up I go chill with mama and dada in the big bed and sip on my morning bottle
-read a bedtime bible story every night with dada
-still point, wave, clap, or say “ah” to everyone I meet in the store
-looking forward to my big party next month (mama keeps trying to put this funny hat on me and take a picture:) )

(ps on the pic above….yes, its grainy from the high ISO and I love it….sometimes going against the rules is a good thing and I love grainy pictures at times….this is one of them…)

Five on Friday!

Friday, July 11th, 2008

1: a movie of beans crawling up the stairs for the first time (this was a while ago so that is why we were really excited) Now she’s an old pro!:

2: Guess what’s coming to my house today?? A portapotty! You know you’re jealous:) Demo starts this weekend, construction on Monday!

3: On Sunday I am doing a session for a friend who is a bellydancer and some of her friends….I am so excited just to be challenged artisticly. I have been researching a little because I don’t know the different stances for bellydancers, etc…so I wanted to be a little knowledgeable. I have been a little disappointed finding cool, out of the box photography of bellydancers…so what are we going to do…rock the session and have some awesome shots with a creativity in poses, etc…I mean, bellydancers are creative and deserve creative shots. I’m looking forward to it…pray for no rain:)

4: Coming up in August…the best 1 year old party ever!!! Beans is turning 1!! I can’t believe how time flies! I am working on the invite now because it must go out this week…I should have been a party planner…I love it so!!

5: Our back yard is really long and sloped…for the past 2 years we have been saying we need a giant slip and slide. So, we have rented a giant blow up on for a BBQ we are having in August as well (lots of parties in August!) It is going to be amazing! Stay tuned for hilarious pictures of that!

(that is a little bit of what is running through my head..enjoy the weekend!!)

am i crazy!!??

Tuesday, July 8th, 2008

so, we have a terrible 1930′s bathroom that has been faux fixed up by the last owners (peel and stick tiles and a shell sink…that is all I’m going to say!) that is in dire need of help. The toilet keeps creeping to the right because the subfloor needs replaced properly as well. So, we had an estimate done on it by a friend of a friend who is a contractor and we are going for it. Sooo, life is a little crazy for me, working crazy hours, have a great fun photo shoot this weekend that I am looking forward too, a couple albums I’m putting together, etc…etc… and what are we now doing as well….starting bathroom reno 2008 on Monday!!!!!!! Agghh! And we’re demo’ing this weekend! It should take a couple weeks for the whole thing and we won’t have a bathroom that whole time because this is a old house and only one bathroom…so what does that mean?? oh yeah, portapotty in the back yard!!! Brad is not excited! (neither am I if I really think about it…but you gotta do what you gotta do!) I figure, 2 crazy, taking bathrooms at the gym (for me at least…LOVE my gym bathrooms..its like a spa, and I’m not being sarcastic either, they are amazing!), portapotty loving weeks equals beautiful new bathroom with a firm floor, no shell sink, and a place Beans can be proud to potty train in! Wish us luck…I’ll definately post pics of the portapotty!

cheater

Monday, July 7th, 2008

I am a cheater and wanted to confess…this weekend I was BAD in the diet, eating raw way of life. Darn going out to eat…its hard to say no to some cheese dip from Cancuns…that all I’m going to say:) So, this morning it is back on the bandwagon for me with some banana’s and frozen blueberries (the only way I like blueberries I have discovered…try it, its amazing!! Turned a fruit I hate into my favorite fruit!)

garden fresh

Sunday, July 6th, 2008

went to the garden yesterday to get some yummies to tide me over for the next few days. They were sitting on the counter waiting to be washed and I thought they looked pretty enough for a picture…so I took one:) the first squash from the garden, along with a cucumber, lettuce, onions, banana peppers, and beans. Yummy!
