a day at dollywood!

Tuesday, June 17th, 2008

So, Brad and I had yesterday off and decided to go to Dollywood with Beans as a little family outing….we had so much fun! Here is the day in pictures…

first we checked out the County Fair and Beans rode her first rides ever…she was too young in the past when we went. She LOVED them! I have a daredevil on my hands! Brad did ride behind her at first because we weren’t sure if she would stay seated. Made for some laughs…him trying to fit in the duck and pig:) First we rode the ducks

Then we went to the pigs! I love this picture…its like they were carrying on some conversation and she was showing him something:)

Then we had lunch….gotta love the gold pass with 20% off…first time this year with it and it does come in handy:)

Beans after lunch….love the tongue…apparently lunch was good:)

Then, being its KidsFest, we randomly bumped into Bob and Larry:) Beans decided to pet Larry!

Next, we went to cool off a little. Dad took this picture since he didn’t want to get wet! Beans loved the water!

Then we played at the playground. This is Beans looking for daddy…

So, all in all, a good relaxed time. We didn’t ride one adult ride and meant to do that…just wanted to walk around and enjoy. Although Brad did get some squirtgun action in on the new ride that you can participate in on the sidelines! I just love Dollywood…I think it is my favorite themepark because there is more than rollercoasters….

Hope you enjoyed! Have a great day!

sleep, pictures, eating raw, and yay for pa!

do you like my attempt to rhyme the title…sorry, it was the best I can come up with for this random post!

First, for those of you waiting on the Blake and Ashlee slideshow it is coming along and will be up by the end of this week….stay tuned for the awesomeness! I wish I could get it all done today but there are so many pictures! I promise it will be worth the wait!

Second, after eating way too much at the wedding last weekend I have been being really strict this week as far as eating goes and doing about 95% raw food (meaning veggies, fruits, and nuts/beans in their raw form, uncooked) and still eating some fish/chicken every once in a while)….It has personally been amazing for me and I went to cheat one day at Panera (because who can really say no to Panera?!) and felt terrible afterwards. I even chose to have a fruit bowl at IHOP this morning! I will weigh on Tuesday and see if I lost anything. But even if I haven’t, I feel so much better now! I will try to post some recipes and such sometime.

Next, to the sleep portion of this post. Beans has been very needy in regards to sleep in the 10 months of her life…she loved to cuddle and sleep with her face planted right on you since day one. It has taken her awhile to learn to put herself to sleep, etc. So, the result has been that she has been sleeping in our room. I have read books, searched the internet, on what to do and decided to just go with the flow. (ok, so some days I stressed about it but after the day of stress I realized it was stupid to get hung up on it and we moved on…because hey, at least we were all getting some sleep :) ) So, about 3 weeks ago I could tell we were almost ready to move into her own room…but boy were we scared of the screaming all night. So, this weekend we went for it and it is a success!!!!! She cried for a total of 6 minutes the first night then slept the whole night! She also took both naps and slept for 2 hours each time (double what she usually does!)…So we’re 2 nights in and so far, a success…thank God!!!

Here she sleeping in her crib at her nap this am…she loves curling up in the corner…I didn’t want to make a racket, so its not that close up and it was dark so the grain is from the bumped up ISO…but you get the jist…

And finally….happy fathers day to all the awesome dads out there!!!!!!!!!!!!!

first time at the lake

Friday, June 13th, 2008

I think I mentionned this before but when this past weekend when we first got to Savannah we had a few hours to spare so we brought Beans to the lake. We were near Pickwick Dam State Park and it was such a nice park with a great beach area! Beans loved it! She was mesmorized by the sand and that it went away with water:) She sat on the sand for awhile and then we ventured to where the water was up to her waist when standing. I love that she loves water and being in it….

Sneak peek for Blake and Ashlee

Wednesday, June 11th, 2008

Combing through the tons of pictures from Blake and Ashlee’s wedding..here are some of my faves! We traveled far from Knoxville as their photographers for their wedding but It was such a fun wedding weekend in good ol’ Savannah, TN….what a pretty part of Tennessee that I have never been to (although I do still love me some Knoxville!) We were near a state park and took Beans to swim in the lake:) I’ll post pics of that soon! So, while I’m getting the whole wedding slideshow together…here are some awesome wedding photography to wet your whistle!

The bride…we are having a trash the dress session here in a few weeks so more to come but we did take a few the day of…love this one!

The couple decided to see each other before the ceremony so we staged the first glance of the bride to create a nice private moment for the two…here is Blake’s first glance…the expression is great!

The flower girl and her basket of petals:)

The ring bearer..cutest kid ever:) He enjoyed his involvement in the wedding…so cute! Both of them did so good during the ceremony!

The bridesmaids dresses made for great pictures….such a great color!

Ahhh..the ring shot…this may be my fave pic of the whole lot!

I took photographs of the rehearsal as well and captured this beautiful picture of the family looking on. We had a great rehearsal dinner with a fun time had by all…. just had a few minutes with the wifi here at the hotel and thought I would post one of my favorites from last night…some photography of the grandparents looking on at the wedding rehearsal…busy day of some awesome wedding photography so we’ll see you later:)

3 on Thursday

Thursday, June 5th, 2008

Well, I am leaving tomorrow to shoot a wedding of a friend this weekend out of town….so I thought I would do a 3 on Thursday of some random stuff since I’ll miss the 5 on Friday:)

1. Tuesdays in June are half price at the Knoxville Zoo for Knox County residents! A great deal! I’m going to try to get there one Tuesday

2. Tomorrow is First Friday downtown….where all the stores are opened up later, lots of art galleries, lots of free munchies and drinks. Check out Unarmed Merchants down by Nama, they have wine tastings on Friday:)

3. Beans played in the fountains at Market Square for the first time yesterday. Pops, Nana, and Kaiser came down and met up with me. She loved it…immediately went for the taller fountain. Can’t wait for this weekend because we are near a lake with access so it will be her first lake experience.

I will leave you with a picture I snapped last night of beans…love the blue eyes! And no, I didn’t enhance them in photoshop, I did add a bleaching layer to the whole photo though. I’ll try to post over the weekend if we have wifi at the hotel, if not, see you on Monday:)

Happy First Monday of June!

Monday, June 2nd, 2008

Another week is upon us:) Don’t you wonder how time flies so much! I think it does go by faster with a kid too…it’s like she is transforming in front of us… So, this weekend was busy but nicely busy. We are gone for the next two weekends so we didn’t schedule too much for this one to give us time to catch up on things (like the front yard, which is coming along nicely…we are all done with the rock and now are moving on to flowers and mulch.) So, for Saturday night I surprised Brad with a date night. We went to see Indiana Jones, then went to eat at the Brewery and finished off with dessert at Coffee & Chocolate. Very fun! He didn’t know about anything until we were parking at the State St. Garage. I told him I was taking him to see Sex and the City. He just looked at me like I was crazy! Then I told him where we were really going and he was like a kid. The whole way in all he talked about was how he thought it was going to be….so cute! So a very fun night out with the hubby:) Thanks to mom and dad for watching beans!

Have a great monday!
