this is how beans gets around. Forget that crawling stuff, who needs knees when you have a bum:) Isn’t it the funniest thing!

**edit: yes, that is my crazy husband in the background yelling tornado. It was really stormy out and he knows I get all rowled up about tornados and likes to freak me out….love, its a beautiful thing:)

{ pardon the pun }

so, a great Memorial Day weekend. We had so much fun that Beans is still recouping from it. Since the trip she has slept great and taken 3 naps per day! So, the recap!

Friday we made our way to the Red River Gorge area in KY. A beautiful drive but one with many turns (for those that know me, me and turns do not get along!) so by the time we got there I was a little peakish:) We set up shop as it started raining…. the tent held well to the rain and it was kinda nice to hear the raindrops all night. We stay at Lago Linda’s Hideaway so it is a private camping place where you can car tent wherever you want. They also have pavilions right there with picnic tables, grills, etc. And a big plus, the bathrooms were amazing!

So Saturday we set off to climb. Brad did really well and actually jumped ahead and tried to do a really hard route. He made it a little way up (it was an 80 foot climb) and did really well. It works your forearms so much he couldn’t even snap for some time after it.

Beans did so good! She loved camping! There were alot of dogs there and one looked like Kaiser so she had fast friends. All the dogs loved her because they could lick her and she didn’t care. We took a mini tent out while climbing so she chilled in that for a little bit and played. A lab puppy named Bella came with us and kept Beans entertained alot…they loved each other! Then for awhile she sat on a blanket and played and played in the dirt around it. I figured a little dirt never hurt:) You should have seen her, dirt everywhere! Amber, you would have died at her finger nails (we had to have a detailed cleaning for those things to get them back to normal!) Here she is in her tent…

We came back Sunday evening because we had a cook out to go to. Then on Monday we went in search of rocks for the front yard. Found some great ones and are working on getting them in….we’ll post pics of the process soon.

Have many more pics of the weekend and will post more soon:)

In honor of going to Kentucky to rock climb and camp this weekend…here is the 5 on Friday of fun firsts for the weekend…

1. First roadtrip in the rover!

2. First time beans is going camping (the mama is excited but nervous…please don’t let her be the one in the campground screaming all night!!

3. First time Brad rock climbs (he is excited but nervous…he has wanted to do it for awhile and a friend of ours is a pro at it so he has a good teacher…I’ll definately take pics!)

4. First time camping for the mama since being pregnant (last time we went I was 8.5 months pregnant….me getting out of the tent in the middle of the night to go pee 5 times …not a pretty sight!)

5. First roadtrip/camping trip of the season!!!! Bring it on!

We’ll see you guys next week! I’m sure we’ll come back with funny stories and lots of pics:)

So, we had our 9 month check up today. 19.5 pounds, 28 inches long. She is in the 55th percentile on both of those. Her head size percentile….still at 110 (if their is such a thing!)….its to hold all her smarts I tell her! She is advanced in her development says the doctor (and her mother:) )

we went to marble slab last night and beans wore an outfit that was too cute, made by her auntie L. So I brought the camera along. This picture cracks me up, she is eyeing some other kids ice cream at that moment. I got some other cute pictures that I will share but thought this one was funny and needed to be passed along:) Thanks auntie L for the great sewing that you do!!

So, this weekend was fun filled…Yard Sale on Saturday that went great! I just realized that because of the yard sale I didn’t have anything planned on the photography side and Sunday was such a lazy day that I took not a one picture!! What is wrong with me! That never happens! So, no pictures from the weekend today…sorry!

Yesterday, we lounged around in the afternoon and I worked on our yard project that is in progress. We find it is easier to get things done now that we have Beans is to do things in steps. Both me and Brad are the kind that love a project…he leans more towards finishing as his ultimate goal, I lean more to the liking to cross it off my to do list. So it is easier for both of us to have steps and be in progress otherwise, he would be out there all night trying to get it done in one day:) So we listed out our steps for the front yard and have completed a few. Next step is to get flagstone and make the beds, finish painting the porch ceiling (which I worked on over the weekend), get a new light for outside, plant flowers, mulch. Long term we want to redo the porch floor and sidewalk and get a new front door but those things can wait. Now that I think about it I should have taken some up close before shots of the ceiling and in progress…its going from a dark green to a nice khaki….. let’s all say ahhhh:)

This week is my catchup with life week since I will be with Beans most of the week as my mom is with my grandfather who is having open heart surgery. Say prayers for him this week!!!

Happy Monday!
